Ed Dearborn is Edwin Dearborn
For many years I have been calling myself Ed, not Edwin. This may seem like a small and insignificant point, but of recent I have been using my full birth name.
In English, Edwin means "rich friend". This was some motivation to use my full birth name, but when I started to look into my family history I found that there have been several Edwin's in my family tree going back to the mid 1800's. This historical precedence made me proud. So why you may Google Ed, realize that it is Edwin in reality.
